Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 4 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to create an account and use the Service.

2. Who We Are

Wug is currently operated by an unincorporated development team ("we," "our," "us"). A formal business entity may be formed in the future; any transfer of obligations will be announced in an updated version of these Terms.

3. Account Registration

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your credentials. Keep your password secure and update your account information promptly.

4. Pricing

Wug is 100% free at this time. We do not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions. If we introduce paid features later, we will update these Terms and give at least 7 days' notice.

5. User-Generated Content (UGC)

1. Privacy first: Your study progress, chat messages, and any other UGC remain private to your account.
2. No data mining: We do not sell, share, or publicly display UGC. It is stored only to provide core functionality such as spaced-repetition review and chat history backup.
3. Limited technical license: You grant us a non-exclusive, revocable license to process and store UGC solely to operate and improve the Service for you (e.g., syncing across devices, restoring data after reinstall). We will not otherwise use, publish, or adapt your content.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service.
• Use bots, scripts, or other means to manipulate Wug's health, XP, or leaderboards.
• Upload unlawful, hateful, or infringing content.
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms. You may delete your account at any time in Settings; all stored data, including UGC, will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or that using Wug will raise test scores.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim or demand arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or via email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
